Maternity Spans the Period From Conception to Birth and
Beyond
Maternity is that part of a woman’s life that begins from
conception of the child and culminates with the birth of a newborn baby, and
includes the time when she carries the developing fetus within her in her
uterus. It is also the feeling of kinship between her and the infant, and is
best summarized as being feeling tender as well as warm and affectionate to the
child awaiting birth. It is a legal as well as social affirmation of a parent
relating to her child. It can also be anything and everything related to
pregnancy.
Closest Relationship Between Mother and Child
The closest relationship that exists between a mother and
her child is known as maternity, and it may be either a blood relationship like
when she gives birth to her child, or another relationship such as that of
adoption. A mother and her child can bond in many different ways are they
physical or emotional, and it may take time to unfold, or it can even be an
instantaneous relationship where love sprouts unstoppably.
Maternity, when seen from a childbirth perspective, may
require the mother to adapt her lifestyle to dovetail with the child’s welfare
as well as the particular needs of the infant who is about to enter the world.
There is an instant chemistry between them that develops after eighteen weeks
when the mother first begins to feel her infant move about in the womb, and the
developing fetus becomes capable of listening to the heartbeats of the mother
as well as respond to her voice.
It is very common for mothers to experience great maternal
feelings by the time the seventh month of maternity approaches, which is
further strengthened when the infant actually arrives. Maternity also means
that the mother needs to produce oxytocin that further strengthens the maternal
bond between mother and infant.
However, maternity also gives rise to many problems that
affect the mother such as fatigue, extreme changes of moods as well as nausea
and backaches. There are some lucky mothers that will not experience these
maladies, but those are the exceptions rather than the rule. Most women will
experience a normal as well as uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery.
There is also maternity testing to think about, which is a
means of finding out that the parent of the child is. Such testing often
becomes necessary to address the problem of child-support payments. It allows
you to establish whether a certain woman is the mother of the child or not.
Thus science has made it possible to settle the issue of parentage through
maternity testing, which provides an answer to a larger whole that need to be
fitted together to satisfy the endless curiosity of man about the parentage of
a particular offspring.
